Hydra Clangor

In spring, 2017 Florian Walter  came across the Kaiser-Antonino Dance Ensemble. By order of the 38th Duisburger Akzente originated the dance production "Ankündigung" (announcement).

Wolfram Lakaszus - in the ensemble especially in charge of sound and design - and Florian Walter proceeded on an investigation tour by the border area between installation art and music.

Ten new sound objects were created.

The Hydra Clangor is the second. A prototype for a new wind instrument.

Externally and functionally the Hydra Clangor is related to trumpets,  fanfares, baritone-horns, signal-horns and clarinets.

It can be played directly with an oral piece and over an added trumpet.

The accessible range of sounds of the prototype is already impressive.

Physically the Hydra Clangor was developed in the workshops of the Solinger Pest-Projekt.
